Individual Therapy Intensives in Baltimore County, MD

Because transformation doesn’t have to take years.

You’re ready for something different.

These days, it feels like your worth is something you have to earn—minute by minute, project by project, validation by validation. Your days are a marathon of proving, performing, achieving, but the finish line always seems to move just beyond your reach.

You know the drill: saying yes when you mean no, chasing people who'll never truly see you, and then feeling desperately lonely when they inevitably pull away. Your inner critic is loud, your boundaries never hold up, and despite all your hard work, you can't seem to break the cycle. You're exhausted from managing everyone else's needs while yours go unnoticed.

If this sounds familiar, you might be dealing with codependency—patterns rooted in dysfunctional family dynamics where you learned to prioritize others at the expense of yourself. Now, those old wounds are getting triggered in your current relationships. Whether it's with your partner, your kids, your coworkers, or aging parents,  you keep finding yourself stuck in the same painful loops: overgiving, people-pleasing, and silently resenting the fact that no one seems to notice how much you're holding.

Therapy intensives aren’t just another “quick fix” or generic counseling session.

Think of it more like a strategic deep dive—a concentrated space to finally unpack the luggage you've been carrying around, understand how you got here, and start charting a different course. You don't have to keep playing out the same patterns. Together, we’ll work to untangle what’s yours to carry—and what never was.

YOU'RE READY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

YOU'RE READY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Healing isn't a race, but there are moments when you need something that goes deeper, and faster.

How it works

Intensives allow you to fast-track your healing in a way that regular sessions might not.

Instead of weekly sessions spread out over time, intensives give you focused space (typically 1–2 days) to work deeply on a specific issue or emotional block. Here’s what the process looks like, step by step:

  • We’ll start with a 20-minute call to talk about what’s been coming up for you, what kind of support you’re looking for, and whether an intensive is the right fit.

  • Once we decide to move forward, we’ll meet for a 90-minute session before your intensive. In this session, we will:

    • Clarify your goals and what you’d like to focus on

    • Talk through patterns or challenges that have been holding you back

    • Prepare emotionally and practically for the deeper work ahead

  • This is where we do the deep work together. You’ll choose either a 3-hour or 6-hour session (see options below), depending on what feels most supportive for you.

During your session, we’ll move at your pace and draw from approaches like:

    • Family of Origin Work

    • Inner Child Work

    • EMDR

    • IFS (Internal Family Systems)

    • Somatic Interventions

    • Polyvagal Theory

We’ll start by strengthening your Wise Adult Self—the grounded, calm part of you that can stay present and make clear decisions. From there, we’ll explore the parts of you that developed survival strategies and relational patterns to cope. The goal is to shift stuck energy, access clarity, and begin healing the root of what’s been getting in your way.

  • After your intensive, we’ll meet again to process the experience, reflect on insights, and identify concrete next steps. This session helps you:

    • Make sense of what came up

    • Feel supported as you re-enter day-to-day life

    • Create a clear path forward with tools you can continue to use

FAQs

  • If you’ve been feeling stuck in patterns despite regular therapy, or if there’s a specific issue you want to tackle head-on, an intensive could be a good fit for you. You might have tried talk therapy, but are craving deeper, more embodied changes. This could be related to childhood trauma, relationship issues, or unprocessed emotions that continue to hold you back.

  • It’s common to feel a mix of emotional release and relief after an intensive session. You might experience some fatigue as your body processes deep emotions, but this is all part of the healing process. Many of my clients leave with more clarity and insight, and many feel lighter and more connected to themselves after a session.

  • Absolutely! If you feel like you need more time or want to work through different layers of an issue, you can add an additional 3-hour block of time. Some clients return for another session after a few months to keep their progress moving forward or focus on new areas of their life to tackle.

  • Yes! Many clients combine intensives with their ongoing therapy. If you’re in regular therapy and want to target a specific issue that requires more time and attention, an intensive can complement your regular sessions and give you the space to dive deeper into that challenge.
